Bishop Bryant has earned a reputation as one of black America's most charismatic and committed religious leaders. Born in Baltimore, he graduated from Morgan State University and Boston University School of Theology. He earned a doctorate in theology at the Colgate Rochester Divinity School. Dr. Bryant served as pastor of Bethel AME Church in Baltimore from 1975 to 1988 when he was named Bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In 2008, he became the Senior Bishop of the AME Church and Presiding Prelate of the Fourth Episcopal District.
